About The AHA

It all started in the early 1970's as Charles and Marjorie Brown were leading Christian pack trips into the mountains of Oregon every summer. They dreamed of a horse/trail-riding club that would encourage Christians of all faiths and their friends who have and/or enjoy horses to come together for spiritual, social, and recreational purposes. Then finally in the early 1980's, they and a few special friends started the organization that we know today as The Adventist Horseman's Association.

Mission

Our Mission is to strengthen Christian experience, promote association with Christians of all faiths, and make new friends through our common interest in horses and trail riding.

Demographics

We currently have ten chapters in the United States and British Columbia, Canada. We have members in Washington (where the AHA started), British Columbia, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, California, Colorado, Missouri and Florida. We have a set of officers that serve the entire association and also officers at the local level in each chapter.

What We Do

The AHA's main event each year is Cowboy Campmeeting. This event is held around the 4th of July each summer in the Pacific Northwest. (For a more complete description and the details of this year's event, go to our Calendar Section.)

Each Chapter has various activities that are planned year-around. There is usually one event every month. These may include Day rides, Pack Trips, Weekend Campouts, Dinners, Parties, Educational workshops, fund raisers, play days, volunteer trail clearing or whatever the club plans. (For a list of each chapter's events, go to our Calendar Section.)
