Cowboy Campmeeting 2008!!!

Horses on a frosty morning

Cowboy Campmeeting 2008 will be held at Sheridan Meadows. This location is a Seventh-day Adventist retreat center located 5 miles west of Republic, WA. It was once a golf course so it is a large irrigated meadow surrounded by forest with plenty of camping locations in the trees around the meadow. There is a year-round creek running through the property in addition to a well for human drinking water.

What can you expect to find at Cowboy Campmeeting?  You can expect to find a lot of real, down-to-earth people who love horses and the great outdoors.  Every year, two people are chosen to share with us their stories and practical ways we can come to know the Lord.  Days are filled with fun riding and meeting new friends. Email us if you have more questions.  We'll see you soon!

Brothers in Ministry

Each year two people are chosen to share with us their experience the Lord.  Here is a short bio about brothers Rodney and Aaron Payne, our 2008 Cowboy Campmeeting Speakers.

Dating back all the way to their childhood years Rodney and Aaron always had a close relationship.  Raised in Minford, a small town in southern Ohio, they enjoyed similar interests and hobbies.  Whether they were riding bikes, hiking through the woods, or playing in the creek, they always seemed to be together.  That trend of togetherness continued when, to their surprise, God called each of them into ministry.  Both attended Southern College in Collegedale, Tennessee and were both hired by the Georgia Cumberland Conference.  Rodney pastored the Sevierville and Newport churches in Tennessee for 6 years and Aaron was the chaplain at Georgia Cumberland Academy in Calhoun, Georgia.  A little over five years ago Aaron felt called to join the staff at Meadow Glade Church in Battle Ground, Washington, as their youth pastor.  A few years later God called Rodney to join the staff at Beaverton SDA Church, in Beaverton, Oregon, to be their youth/young adult  pastor.  They feel blessed that they are once again able to work in the same conference and live near each other.

Rodney is happily dating Brenda Fuste, who is an urban architect in Berkeley, California.  He enjoys staying active with cycling, running, and going to his local gym.  Photography and guitar are more recent interests for him.

Aaron's life if quite full with helping to raise two awesome boys, Micah, age 4, and Caleb, age 2.  He feels blessed to be married to Peggy, who is a Physical Therapist and a stay at home mom.

Rodney will be presenting the morning meetings and Aaron will be our evening speaker.

These young men are passionate in their desire to help young people fall in love with the Lord.  They continually seek to present a picture of God that will cause young men and women to make a total, sincere, and a lasting commitment to the Lord.
