Well October 7, the High Country Christian Trailriders had a great event!! We hosted a Horse
T r a i n i n g S e m i -nar/Demonstration. It was presented by George Gouvas of Kettle Falls, WA and it was entitled “Clear Communication”. It was held at the indoor arena at Mountain House Stables about 8 miles South of Colville. We had about 35 people in attendance and we all learned a lot! George first explained the methods of communicating clearly with your horse on three horses he had previously worked with. Each was at a different level of training. Then he demonstrated how you get started when you first begin training a horse. He demonstrated on a horse that had never been trained and that he had never met before. It was truly amazing to watch him work with the horse as he established communication with her and then started asking her to do different things. I wish you could all have been there. It was a great seminar and everyone there seemed to really enjoy it.

On November 4 we will be having our first annual Harvest Party. It promises to be loads of fun. We’ll tell you all about it next month.
